Lessons at The Cave
The reason why a person fails at trying to play the guitar is not because of the lack of practice, but because of the lack of not knowing how to practice. Whether you want to play rock, Bach, or B.B. King, the right approach to practice fundamentals cannot be ignored. My firm belief is the practice session can’t be dull or boring. This also holds true for the teaching session. My lessons are centered around the style of music you want to learn how to play – using the best approach in making these basic rudiments of learning how to practice fun. I have taught over fifteen thousand hours of guitar lessons to hundreds of students, both raw beginners and seasoned players stuck in a rut. Learn to make learning to play the guitar fun!   Stop by the Cave or e-mail me for more information concerning how to get started!      VIC

We have a successful teaching program at the Cave because we teach the basics.  Whether it's rock, classical, or bluegrass, these fundamentals are a prerequisite to a student of the guitar. Someone once said, "it all comes down to time behind the box."  This is true, but it must be 'time' well spent not just noodling up and down the fretboard. Another great discovery is to understand the saying "The left hand is for show, but the right hand is for the dough".  Right hand development is too often overlooked.

Rock  •  Heavy Metal  • Theory
Mike can get you up to speed on the mechanics needed to play in the style
of Metallica, Van Halen, and other metal masters.  He loves this style
and will see that you learn how they do what they do to sound like they do.

Bluegrass  •  Old-Timey  •  Rhythm • Country
Steve has made it his business to be able to get the best tone possible
out of a flattop box.  "Notes are cheap, but tone is priceless."  He will also
show how necessary it is to learn how to keep the rhythm going while interjecting those wonderful bluegrass notes into the mix.
Classic Rock • Blues • Swing • Rock-a-Billy • Classical
Fingerstyle • Sight Reading • Theory
Vic loves to show his students how you get there from here.  Music theory is a big part of
why we do what we do - why it sounds good to us, or why it sounds boring.  The more a guitarist knows about these underlying elements, the better chance of making the music sound interesting.
