This beautiful example, as with several Gibson’s can be dated by
our friends at Guitar Center as a 71 another local dealer as a
72, but we figure this to be a late 72 or early 73. (Serial
#967638) From Wes Montgomery to Pat Metheny, jazz greats have
made magic on Gibson L-5’s. Alex Skonik, the metal shredder
from Testament began his new career in Jazz with an L-5 and now
heads the Alex Skolnik trio. According to the books, she has
carved top and back. Bound ebony fret board with mother of
pearl block inlays. Gold hardware, with original trapeze, gold
sealed machine heads and original inlayed bridge. Minimal wear
but she is missing her pick guard. Non original case included.
